Holiday Inn Express & Suites Columbus - Polaris Parkway, an IHG Hotel

Nice family-friendly hotel in what seems to be a nice area of Columbus. Hotel Room and fitness room were clean. Unfortunately pool was closed due to someone getting sick in it just before we got there, so we couldn't use it. But I bet my 3 year old would love the pool and we will keep this place in mind if we are traveling through again. I also love that Holiday Inn Express has Dove moisturizing products in their bathrooms now. Less waste of little plastic bottles of shampoo and such. Also Dove is a good quality product- my skin felt good after using it.

We just left the Holiday Inn Polaris. We have stayed here two times before in the past few years and have had a great experience. This year we’ve had a terrible experience. Third night of our stay we got locked out of our room and my son was falling asleep in the hallway and they couldn’t get us in and then finally they figured out how to let us in. To be fair the night staff were really nice about it. The next morning my son and I were getting ready in the bathroom to leave when the mirror on the wall came crashing to the floor. To be fair we did notice that it was loose when we checked in but I didn’t think much of it , we were spending most of the time in the city and didn’t in a million year think it would fall. Then they told us that the manager would reach out to us the next day, because there was no manager on site. They moved us to a different room. The next morning, the manager, Stacy could not have been less, compassionate or kind. She blamed my disabled three-year-old for messing with a mirror which we didn’t touch because we were in the bathroom getting ready so there was absolutely no way for us to be close to that mirror. I also got my foot minorily injured on a piece of glass as I was trying to get out of the room to get them into the room to clean it. She didn’t apologize once, but what she did is blame my three year old with a disability for causing a mirror that is supposed to be bolted to the wall where it’s not even physically possible for him to cause the fall. Extremely disappointing experience and as we were leaving she proceeded to passively aggressively attack us, called my son with disability names. I told her to please not attack us and she said that she would “attack” anybody that she thinks can cause damage. A 3 year old!!! Who was on his iPad watching Mickey Mouse . Extremely disheartened , definitely was not like this under the previous management . Will not be back . So so disappointed .

I should have turned around and cancelled before I even checked in. Upon arriving at the front desk one employee was being screamed at by a guest demanding extra wristbands into the pool area. After the guest screamed enough the employee caved and provided extra wristbands. Once we entered the pool area it seemed as though this is the place locals like to sneak into and party for the night. Despite the “security” guard at the door, many, MANY people were inside without wristbands and they never stopped coming. The pool was very dirty and so was the hot tub. The room was decent although popcorn kernels did float out of the Keurig after putting water in it and the pull out bed had a huge wad of gum stuck inside. Breakfast was good with a lot of selections but we did overhear a younger group of people’s conversation about their night of partying and chaos that resulted in an apparent fight and people sleeping in the lobby area. Overall, my worst hotel experience.

We have been coming here for years now, and it doesn't disappoint! The cleanliness of the hotel and courteous staff make you feel at home. The pool area is the real bonus, perfect for everyone! Breakfast is the standard free hotel breakfast, and fills us up every time. Another bonus is the location, we didn't drive more than 20 minutes away the whole weekend we were here, and had plenty to do.
